Namaste _/\_

Welcome to my website! smiley

I am currently the Director of innovation and an AI research scientist with an energy-based startup company SmartGridz based in Boston, MA. I completed my Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. Marija Ilic in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with a minor in machine learning, at MIT. As a member of  Electric Energy and Systems Group (EESG) and Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) at MIT, I have had the privilege of working with some of the most brilliant minds in the world.

My research focus is on the intersection of engineering, computer science, and public policy to develop AI-enabled physics-backed solutions that could expedite large-scale adoption of green energy. I am interested in developing simple yet sufficiently rich metamodels based on the underlying physics to support the digital transformation of legacy power grids that can operate reliably and efficiently all the while supporting cost-effective integration of distributed energy resources.

Prior to MIT, I received my Master's at Carnegie Mellon University and was the receipient of the presitigious Carnegie Institute of Technology Dean's fellowship. Having received my undergraduate degree from GNITS, Hyderabad, a women-only university, I have always been committed to women's empowerment. Over the years, I have mentored a wonderful group of passionate women to pursue research in energy and guided them through their careers.

I welcome opportunities to speak on my past and current research and get feedback. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Our universe is a sea of energy - free, clean energy. It is all out there waiting for us to set sail upon it. - Robert Adams
